The East/West Classic that was started over 6 years ago in order to showcase the elite players from each zone with college prospects in mind will not be played in 2007. As the East/West and the Futures games evolved over time along with the increased age eligablity, the Futures games became the dominant showcase for college prospects and coaches alike.
In 2007, the Connecticut State Baseball Committee has teamed up with Rawlings to host a Futures Showcase with representative teams from each Zone. This new partnership has doubled the number of players that the Connecticut American Legion will be able to showcase in addition to providing a venue for colleges to see the players in a day long event. |
