Former MLB player Willie Upshaw stopped by the CT American Legion baseball coaches seminar to speak about the art of hitting a baseball. Upshaw played for the Toronto Blue Jays and Cleveland Indians and is now the manager of the Bridgeport Blue Fish.

Early today I had a chance to talk to Craig Zimmerman the  State Director for CTAL and we talked about tryouts, showcases, scholarships and the health of the game in CT. June 25, 2010 - I Had a chance to sit down with Craig Zimmerman the state director of American Legion baseball in Connecticut. we touch upon a variety of topics including the use of wood bats during the regular year and state tournament at the end of July. We also talk briefly about the loss of Matt Roche the 19-year old Bristol catcher who passed away after an accident at Sleeping Giant Park in Hamden earlier this week. We also chat about the upcoming tournament and how it might effect the Connecticut team which moves onto the regional tournament the first week in August.
