Play In Highlights:
Contact - teams are responsible for communicating about field locations, directions
availability of batting cages & water, and any weather related updates.
Game Time - unless otherwise noted game are scheduled for Noon on the weekend
and 4:00PM on any weekday. If both teams agree, because of travel or
field availability, with the prior approval of the State Director, they can
be started up to one hour later (also earlier). Please send an email to
your zone chairman & the State Director (craig_zimmerman@msn.com)
with the name of your field and any time change request.
Umpires - home team is responsible for getting the umpires through their Umpiring
Board Scheduler. Each team is responsible for paying for one umpire.
In Charge - each Zone Chairman will put someone in charge at each game site. Any
protest must be decided by State Director or his designee.
Official Games - all games must go the complete 7 innings unless effected by the
10 run rule after the "losing" team has batted at least 5 times.
Home Team - the higher ranked team is the home team.
Baseballs - each team is required to bring 6 to each game. The home team must
have enough additional baseballs to complete the game.
Eligible - each team can only use otherwise eligible players that are listed on their
Form 1. To play in the Junior Tournament, players double rostered with
their senior teams:
(a) to pitch, must have pitched in less than 20 senior zone innings
(b) to bat, pinch run or play one of the other 8 defensive positions, must
have played in less than 50% of their sennior zone games
Clarification: What this means is an eligible pitcher who has played in more
than 50% of their senior zone games is ineligible to hit in the Junior
Tournament and must be DH'd for.
* Winning team needs to call their Zone Chairman and the State Director
(860-670-5224) with their final score as soon as the game is over, so
that our website can be updated ASAP.
